Vata–Kapha types tend towards being excessively deficient, particularly nutritionally. Vata is a sign of wind, and always on the go. So they tend to eat quickly and mostly easy to find, ready made foods. Having a secondary dosha of Kapha means you build up bodily tissues to create stability and structure. As a result of an over-reliance on eating “convenience foods,” you are constantly hungry and continue to over eat to fill the void. You can gain weight at the expense of taking in actual nutrition. You can eat a lot of ‘empty’ calories that the body will store as adipose tissue, not knowing what else to do with it.
